Nintendo's Game Boy: the #1 selling portable gaming System.

About the Game Boy- a biased review by Chris Pickett

[Original Game Boy] Nintendo's widely popular Game Boy is the best selling portable game system in the world. Despite the fact that the Game Gear, Lynx, TurboExpress and now the Sega Genesis Nomad are all in color, Nintendo keeps making record sales with their little black-and-white system.

Let's take a look at some of the selling points of the Game Boy: The B&W LCD display is not back or side-lit. This allows for much greater battery life. On average, a Game Boy lasts 4 times as long as any other system, with a fresh set of batteries. And speaking of batteries: The Game Boy only requires 4 AA batteries, while all of the other systems require 6.

The Game Boy's small size makes it the only truly pocket-sized portable.

The Game Boy is widely supported and has a large library of over 400 games, with more games coming all the time.

With the advent of the Super Game Boy, which allows the Super Nintendo to play all Game Boy games, many newer games are taking advantage of this and adding extra coding specifically for the Super Game Boy. Why, now you can get B&W OR color from the same game pak.

The Game Boy is also available in a choice of designer colors. These Game Boys are from the "Play It Loud" series and are identical in every way except for the color. For the life of me, I don't understand why they ever offered it in any color other than black. I mean, all of the other sytems are in black. I guess if you're worried it might clash with your outfit....
