This is an actual size scan of a Sega Game Gear TV Tuner. This simply goes into the game cartridge slot and then transforms your Game Gear into an LCD Color Television.
This particular model is the North American version. Rumor has it that a European version exists also. Either way, the TV Tuner has antenna and mono A/V inputs. Using an easy to find coax to 1/8" mono adaptor plug or cable, you can bring in a TV antenna or even cable television. Via the A/V input, you can bring in such items as a console video game system, VCR, camcorder or any other devices that can output via A/V connectors. To use the A/V input, I suggest getting a quality cable that has 2 RCA ends and a stereo 1/8" plug. A simpler description might be the type of cable you'd need to use to take a headphone or computer line output to connect to your stereo amplifier. I recommend a quality cable because it will have better shielding and will ensurer a higher quality signal going to the A/V input. The end result is higher signal quality. Please visit this page for additional wiring information.

As you can clearly see, adding the TV Tuner adds some bulk to the Game Gear. Not shown is the metal stand that is included with the TV Tuner. This stand snaps into two slots on the back of the Game Gear and allows you to watch TV without having to hold the Game Gear or else lay it flat on a surface.
Also not shown is the Sega Super Wide Gear screen magnifier. This device snaps over the front of the Game Gear and magnifies the screen. This can be used at the same time as the TV Tuner. Put on the Super Wide Gear first, then snap on the TV Tuner. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to provide a picture of this configuration because it won't scan properly on my flatbed scanner, and my color QuickCam is out on laon.
