Epilepsy Warning
If you can read this, you don't need glasses
WARNING:
Read before using your Computer, TV, Modem, or any video game system:
A very small portion of the population may experience seizures when viewing
certain kinds of flashing lights or patterns that are commonly present in our
daily environment. These persons may experience seizures while watching some
kinds of television pictures or playing certain video games, computer programs,
ANSI graphics, web pages, and movies. People who have not had any previous
seizures may nonetheless have and undetected epileptic condition. Consult your
physician before playing video games, watching TV, going to movies, using a
computer, logging onto electronic bulletin boards(BBS), getting on the internet,
renting and/or buying movies if you, or anyone in your family, has an epileptic
condition. IMMEDIATELY discontinue use of said device or stop said activity and
consult your physician if you experience any of the following symptoms while
playing video games, watching TV, using your computer, viewing movies, using
the World Wide Web and/or calling electronic bulletin boards: altered vision,
eye or muscle twitching, other involuntary movements, disorientation, loss of
awareness of your surroundings, mental confusion, dizziness, sickness, loss of
income, talking back to the screen or device, staying up way too late to engage
in said ativities, sore thumbs, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, talking out loud to
oneself, hitting electronic equipment to "fix" it, drooling and/or convulsions.
While this document was written as a parody of those epilepsy warnings that come with just about all video games these days, this is also a very serious topic. This document is meant to entertain. If you have found this page because you were doing some research on epilepsy, or even epilepsy as a direct or indirect result of video games, I apologize. If you, or someone you know has had an epileptic seizure that could possibly be related in some way to video games, please immediately consult a physician.
