Pay attention. In the Living Forest screen, Jade will peek out from behind a tree when either Kitana or Mileena are being used. If Scorpion, Sub-Zero or Reptile are in use, then Smoke will peek out from behind a tree. Note: If either Mileena or Kitana and Scorpian, Sub-Zero or Reptile are facing off, I believe Player 1 gets the "secret character" that reflects what character Player 1 is using: Jade for Kitana and Mileena, Smoke for Scorpian, Sub-Zero and Reptile. How to get to Jade: In the stage beneath the "?", win any round using only the low kick button. Try doing a lot of jump-kicks and sweeps. If done correctly, you have now earned the honor of getting your butted kicked by Jade. She looks like a green version of Mileena and Kitana, but she's twice as fast and 4 times as deadly. I'll bet it has something to do with PMS. If you do happen to lose, do not worry, you will be returned to the game, no harm done. Sonya Blade appearance: She won't fight, but she's hidden somewhere. This might be a helpful hint: To fight Sonya (UNCONFIRMED): 1. Double flawless Jade with Kitana (only!). 2. Select Kitana again on the character select screen. 3. Perform her birthday cake friendship (D,D,D,U,A) while facing Sonya after fighting Sheng Tsung. The friendship must be performed directly between Shao Kahn's legs. Shao Kahn will say "EXCELLENT!" and the screen will scroll over to Sonya's pedestal. Next Sonya will be hilighted and Shao Kahn will strike the ground with his sceptre and the chains bonding Sonya will release her. Sonya will walk off of the pedestal and face Kitana while simultaneously bowing in her direction. Next, Jade will replace Kitana in a puff of smoke and the fight begins. You play SONYA!!!!! Smoke: Occasionally, when someone does an upper cut, a guy will pop out of the lower right had corner and sing "Toasty!". If this happens during the Portal Stage, quickly hold DOWN and press START before he goes away and you get to challenge Smoke, a grey ninja who needs a bath(or is that smoke?) Noob Saibot: Huh? Never heard of this. Anyways, according to Game Player, if you can make 49 consecutive wins(playing against a second player at least some of the time), the winning streak counter will reset. Is it possible to get Noob? Well, looks like we will have to wait and see. To reach Noob Saibot win 50 consecutive battles, 1 or 2 player. If he beats you, you stay at 49 wins, so you can just keep winning one battle until you manage to beat him. You MUST beat him to get over 50 wins in the high score table. I have been unable to confirm this, and a friend and I tried this. I let him beat me 50+ times in a row.(OK, I was trying to win, he's just better than me) and it didn't appear to work. Note of interest: * Don't use punch buttons during winning rounds(where if you win, the words "Finish Him" would appear on the screen) or Fatalities or Babalities won't work at all. This has not really been confirmed by myself. Experiment and see. * Pit Fatalities: These must be excuted while standing exactly next to your opponent, and can only be done in the Kombat Tomb and Pit II stages. * Don't forget to hold BLOCK while inputting a fatality that involves pressing UP. If you don't, you jump and ruin the fatality. Neat-O Secrets: Random Select: Highlight the top corner on your side(Liu Kang for Player 1, Reptile for Player 2) and press START while holding UP. Only a true master can win with any charater at random. Disable Throw: At the character select screen, just after both players have chosen their character, hold DOWN and Y on both controllers. Just before the fight starts, you should see a message that reads "Throwing Disabled". Dead Pool Fatality: After winning the second round, when the "Finish Him" message appears, press and hold LOW PUNCH and LOW KICK buttons, move in close and execute a normal uppercut(with those buttons still held down), your opponent gets an acid bath. Isn't that nice? Super Spiffy Dead Pool Bonus: When the skeleton floats to the surface, hold Down and the skeleton will say something. Two Player Survival Mode: At the START prompt on the Title screen(red screen with dragon logo), hold down L&R buttons and push start. Now both players select teams of 4 characters for an all-out war. This is like a tag-team bi-directional endurance match from Mortal Kombat I. Other Nifty Secrets: Shang Tsung's Kintano Morph: It doesn't appear to work like it does in the arcade. Well, no duh, this isn't the arcade. CONFIRMED Kano Morphs: they do NOT exist, so don't ask, they are not in there. Recently discovered information: Kano Morphs: Play Mortal Kombat I, choose Kano. Enjoy. Pong: Does anyone out there lack a life? If so, fight 250 battles in a row and report back to us. To play "Pong," play until the 250th battle. Geeze, you must be really bored to try this one out. *There is a special type of punch commonly referred to as a "heavy punch." When the opponent jump-kicks at you, press High Punch once. You must do it before he is lined up with the punch. Properly timed (which is VERY hard to do), he will fall into the punch, and take more damage than an uppercut! The heavy punch hits several times, rather than just once. Also, this knocks the opponent way up in the air, and can be followed by any move except Kitana's fan lift. Many painful combos can be done after a heavy punch. Slip off spikes after a pit fatality uppercut: The CPU does it? Is it random? Let's take a peek: If you do the Pit Fatality in the Kombat Room, knocking the opponent onto the spikes, press down on both controllers before the opponent hits the ceiling. He will slide off the spikes and hit the ground. On the player select screen, pressing Up + Start while in your corner (Liu Kang for Player 1 or Reptile for Player 2) will cause the computer to randomly select a character for you. This makes 2-player games more fair. Only a true Mortal Kombat Master can win with any character at random. While no one is playing, press down on both controllers to see the high score table. Reset your SNES while holding down BOTH L&R on BOTH controllers. Shao Kahn and Kintaro have a little interaction All of the following codes have to be done at the character select menu and have to be done fast, and I do mean FAST!!! If done correctly, you will hear a sound that will let you know the code has been inputted correctly, other wise, try again. Note: These codes only work for single player games. CPU HANDICAP D,U,R,U,L Then Select --------- 29 KREDiTS L,U,R,D,L Then Select --------- FiGHT THE SHADOW GUY L,U,D,D,R, Then Select --------- FiGHT JADE U,D,D,L,R, Then Press Select --------- FiGHT SMOKE U,L,U,U,R, Then Select --------- FiGHT KiNTARO U,D,D,R,R, Then Select --------- FiGHT SHOW KAUN (LAST GUY) R,U,U,R,L, Then Select --------- Legend U -Up R -Right L -Left D -Down Select -Select Glitches? Try this. Pick Baraka (also works with most people's throw that throws opponent kinda far) and Cage (because he has an easy friendship, but can do anybody, but pick Cage for now). Don't hit punch with Cage the entire round, and have baraka kill you with a throw. As soon as he throws you, start rapping on DOWN and HK. Cage will go into his friendship, and Baraka can bash him right out of it. If you do Mileena's, try pushing her away from the flower, then throw her. She just stays in the air, and you can upper-cut her without a lag after. JUST TRY IT! What's a Fergality?: It's something SNES owners need not concern themselves with. Fergalities only appear to work on the Sega Genesis version of Mortal Kombat II. If you feel the need to know what a Fergality is, then go get the Sega Genesis MKII file available via this link. Whew, that's all of them I've been able to dig up. Have fun memorizing all of these. Practice a lot and then show off to all your friends. This document should keep you busy for a while. Final Note: Am I missing something here? Are one of these hints in error? If so, please alert me to my ommission and please correct my error. I will quickly correct my mistake and re-post this compilation. Please be aware that at this time I do not own a Super Nintendo. I own a Game Boy and Game Gear, I am mainly compiling this for a friend who owns a SNES.
